Your tire size is broken into three different parts: width, aspect ratio (height), and rim size. When you look at your vehicle's tire you will see a set of numbers that look similar to this: 225/65/R17.
The first number "225" describes the tire's width in millimeters. The second number "65" describes the tire's height or aspect ratio. The bigger the second number, the taller your side wall will be. And the third number with the "R" next to it, is an indicator of how big your rims/wheels are.
A tire with the size 225/65/R17 is 225 millimeters wide and has an aspect ratio of 65. The tire's height is 65% of the tire's width. And the rim size is 17 inches.
